The most recent suicide I worked was a TCU student who used a Ruger LCP with a .38+P round.

Made a very nice cavity in his head.

I've seen a handfull of people killed with a .22 caliber round.


One was a self inflicted GSW to the head. He shot himself and called 911. We got there before the amberlamps and he was still sitting upright in bed. His head was the size of a basketball and the first thing he said was "I think I fucked up". He was alert and talking all the way to the hospital.

Then the brain swelling/hemorrhaging got to out of control and he died.

X2, last .22 one I ran on was a browning buckmark. He didnt fair so well either.

I've seen a self-inflicted 12 ga to the head. Used her toe, and lived for several months. It was beyond description.
