CJ and I have been talking about this and wanted to know what keeps the film from chipping off. Do you put some sort of a clear on it? Will it stick to any material?

I've done a lot of researching on this, but apparently after you coat, you have to clear it. So the coating is only as good as the clear used. I assume it's some sort of epoxy like duracoat.

Im not sure how good that DYI kit is, maybe for doing small things, but the process I was introduced too was a little more complicated than having a bucket of water. The guys shop I went to had a large stainless steel tank with water flow jets and tempature control, then a shower type area for rinsing and then a dedicated spray booth for clear coating. The clears he was using were automotive urathane.

It is the next generation of coatings for sure, like the vehicle wraps of the late 80's and early 90's, they took awhile to take off, so Im sure this process will go through the same thing
