Not my office, hes a client and is the owner. Only 3-4 employees, so they have a fear of calling him in as it would mean they would be out of a job. Company is broderline anyway with the aforementioned legal/financial stuff so they are walking a line.

Most company's explicitly prohibit firearms on company propertyin their employee handbook, and in some cases even the parking lot. Even if there are no signs posted, it may be legal to carry in the eyes of the law, but will lead to immediate termination.

There is something else to consider here. Gov Bill Clements liked to give pardons. If a felon discharged their sentence and did not get into any more trouble for 5 years after their discharge date Gov Clements would give them a full pardon. During his 2 terms in office I believe that he signed 14,000 pardons.

I appreciate the offer but his conviction is not in question or doubt. Just whether or not it was illegal for him to own a firearm.

OK; I will back down from this. A client with a felony conviction who happens to own a gun 25 years later will not ruffle my feathers in the slightest. A person who is about to crack playing with a gun in an inappropriate area is of great concern with or without a felony conviction.
PM me his info and I will run his name. If he does come up with a conviction on his record I will pass the info back to you. On the plus side his gun is going to be your new gun if he has a record since he can't call the law when you take it from him.
