And as far as the fix, it's not bad at all. Like $45 overnight to Taurus in Florida, and they will go over the weapon and make sure everything else is good too...just a really low thing to do (sell a weapon that has a defect). I just have to give props to Taurus, unlimited lifetime warranty, no matter who owns the gun, they stand behind it 100% (or at least that is what they state...we will see)

Some poor idiot might start carrying right away and not know it has an issue. I am glad I tested after every purchase after...and from now on I will start testing before I purchase.

the card that came with my pt709 says i had 7 days from purchase to send the warranty card in.. i didn't and figured i'd have to pay to have it sent in and looked at... i guess i'll have to give them a call and see

Well that sucks Brian, honestly that is a shitty thing to do if you know you are going to sell a firearm. Ive met people now 4 times trying to sell my Lorcin and I tell them it malfunctions, when we meet up, they see that its durocoated on the inside and get the fuck out of dodge. That was the same thing that happened to me, however I only paid $50 for it. He also told me it worked fine, and with my barely initiated knowledge of firearms I had no fucking idea what I was doing. I felt raped, and then felt like an Idiot as CJ scolded me for my stupidity.

I never sent in my warranty card and have had the gun there 2 times. I paid $27 to ship there 1st time and they paid ( both ways ) picked it up and returned it the last time.

Original issue was never resolved the 1st time.

You need to go to their site and fill out a repair ticket before you send it in. No calls required.

taurus makes some very fine handguns, but some of thier lower end pistols seem to have issues like that or horrible triggers and balance.

I bought a used Taurus revolver and found it had a broken cylinder stop. Sent it in and it was fixed, no questions asked.

I had a firing pin return spring break on a Taurus PT-145. I sent it back for the warranty fix and sold it. No plans of owning another Taurus again.

You should post about your experience on TGT (assuming you meant Texas Gun Talk).

Buying cetmes is not easy, century screwed a lot of them up. Their problems can be difficult to diagnose and very unique to their design. What problems did you have? Still have it?
