I guess it is my own fault for not making him meet me at a range, but with the other 25 or so firearms I have purchased in the past 6 years, I have never had this issue.
Bought a Taurus PT-111 for a cheap pocket/console gun. Found it on TGT for $220. Buyer assured me it worked, even after I specificallly mentioned FTF or FTE's.
Well the extractor is broken. You fire one round, the shell stays in place and the next one wont feed.
I sent him an email about this, stating it would cost me around $50 to send it to Taurus to have it repaired, and I just don't think it would be worth it for the type of firearm it is and I get this response:
So, yeah...from now on I am mandating I meet at a range. Honestly I thought firearms owners had more integrity, but I guess I was wrong.
I shot back this email just to put a little guilt on him. It wont do anything, but it made me feel better as I am not going to dwell on this, just be the better man and move on with a lesson learned.
So looks like it's going to the Taurus factory after all..hopefully they will toss in an extra mag or two for my troubles.
Anyone ever had this happen? Did you just move on?
