The Instructor fee is $55, the fingerprints with L-1 are $10. The state has a fee that is anywhere from $0 to $140.

Standard $140.00 Everyone that does not have one of the lower exceptions
Senior Citizen (60 or older) $70.00
    Indigent.$70.00
    Active or Retired Peace Officer.$25.00
    Active or Retired Judicial Officer..$25.00
    Retired Federal Officer.$25.00
    Felony Prosecutor .$0.00
Other Prosecutor (not prosecuting felony cases) $140.00
    Active Military .$0.00
    Veteran .$70.00

This is the case no matter where you go. The $10 for the fingerprints at L-1 is mandated by the state, and the fee you pay to Austin is going to be the same no matter where you go. The only fee that will vary is the instructors fee.

Must mail in your LONG FORM DD214 to the state to qualify for the discount. I found out the hard way and for the first time in 13 years of presenting my DD214 when asked, I found out there is not a discharge status on the damn thing. Not even the VA questioned it when I said "I was Honorably discharged, see here is my DD214". The State of Texas caught it though and kicked my application back. Also always remember to sign the student signature of the CHL100. I did not.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

We make sure your CHL-100 and CHL-6 are filled out before you leave. It used to be a one stop shop. Fingerprints, Paperwork, everything you need, but the State does not want it that way anymore.

I'd be interested, and could probably bring another three or four with me depending on when the class is.

+$10ish to the state for doing your finger prints
+$140 or less for your application to the state. Depends on where you fall under the discounts or not.

The term passport photo is the format of the picture required for you to get a license with,,,,,,you guessed it, your picture. Your head needs to be a certain size in the picture. Ever put driver licenses together and all the heads are in about the same spot, that is a passport photo format.

The only way you can get it done for cheaper than a $55 class is if you are getting a free class. If any other instructor tells you differently I guess you will learn an expensive lesson.

These Fees HAVE TO BE PAID no matter what any instructor tells you

Those are ontop of the class. If you are going to take a class that advertises a one stop shop for $140 you still HAVE TO PAY THE ABOVE AMOUNTS. Take those numbers and add $55 to which ever applies to you. You can not beat this deal Chopped is offering.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I would be getting a free class. I was hoping there was some loophole or exemption that these guys could do the whole thing for $55 but no such luck.
