  • Any interest in a $55 CHL one day class??

I have an instructor who I have contacted about a group class and was told I only needed 5 people, which I already have. He then said that he would extend it to as many people as I could line up.

Class and range would be 30 mins east of Dallas in Rockwall.
He will give me a class date and I will post up as soon as I know, but would be within the next few weeks.

Wow, that is a great price. $110 for you and your old lady. If I didn't have mine already I would be on it for sure. I paid over twice that IIRC.

does this include EVERYTHING .... I was reading the other day that some classes are cheaper but you have to do other stuff (something about filing your own paperwork or something i don't remember exactly)

I believe it will include fingerprints, pics, and range time. Some do require you to do the passport photos, but the fingerprint cards are included in the state packet.
You will have to send your completed paperwork in, and pay the state fee ($140)

I'm in on this as well. I've been carrying without CHL for long enough and need to get this taken care of. PLEASE keep me updated on this.
I was told that I would get a discount on my registration with the state due to my military service...anyone know if this is true?

I'm not in state anymore, but I'd definitely be interested in sending my fiance to this so she can start carrying. Keep us updated

I'd like to know too since I may be able to get the discount too (probably not since I had a Medicare DC out of boot, but you never know)

Active duty is free for the state paperwork.

Active Duty military: You do not pay any Texas state fees while on active duty or within 1 year of discharge from active duty. You only have to pay the course fee. Your Texas CHL is good in 30 states. Get it now while you are active duty. Active Duty military only has to be 18 years old to legally get their CHL, and your first Concealed Handgun License is good for 4 years. Your second license is good for 5 years.

I thought all fingerprints had to go through L-1 Identity Solutions where you actually have to go to a certain location to get them done? So is the fee $55 or $140? If it's just $55 then what's the $140 state fee for?

$140 is what the state charges for a CHL. $55 is what the instructor charges for the class.
