What is the point in carrying an unloaded weapon?

They also had to throw in the fact that it was a pink handgun. VERY important detail there.

How long does it really take to rack a round?
If this guy had an unloaded weapon, he wouldn't have permanently unloaded his other weapon.

Could be a second longer than you have.

There was a video of a guy getting yanked out of his car. That second was longer than he had to defend himself. Fortunately, he had one racked and it saved his life.

Ohio CCW Forum. Round in the chamber even if it was in the center console.

GE posted a while back that when the SHTF your motor skills are the first to go. So, if you are carrying a weapon that is not ready to go, and the SHTF, you may not have the motor skills or the time to rack that round. Which could result in the loss of your life and/or the lives that you may have been tasked with protecting at that point in time. For me it's my wife and two children. Not sure they'd understand why I didn't have it ready to go when/if I needed it and I failed...

When it comes to a chambered round the determining factor on danger is your skill level. I've daily carried a chambered round with no safety for over eight years with not one accidental discharge. Not a big deal if you exercise caution at all times when handling a firearm.

Theres no reason to carry a gun without a round chambered. I would never pull my gun out unless I was planning on using it. If I'm going to use it I don't want to be fumbling around with safeties or operating the slide to chamber a round.
