Last time I was out there someone was tossing in those large aluminum screw on cap beer cans. You can shoot the shit out of those. Before they were sinking. More fun was launching them in the air and popping them on their way down.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

ok, the guy emailed me back, he said i can go with a fluted barrel for $50 more. i asked him for weight specs.

edit: thinking about paying the upgrade. worth it for weight savings and cooling?

yeah a 24" non-fluted barrel would be pretty damn heavy.

as long as the ramps match up you can't screw up an upper.

yes, my friend built the 16" model on one of the SA&A lowers. it was because of his i thought about building a 20" version.

he has 400 rounds through it with no issues so far.
he went up to garland public with me. i shot a couple rounds through it... it felt fine. i couldn't gauge it any further cause he bought a trashy ass NC star scope.

the rifle looked very nice. i like the handguards better than traditional CAR/M4 style. i definitely remember it being a heavy SOB.

i was more focused on my new 10/22 that day however.

you don't need it, it's mostly an aesthetics/weight thing.
