It looks like they are going for about $900 now on gunbroker.

I had one of the 24" barreled PSS guns, and sold it.

I regretted selling it, so I bought another.

It doesn't see much use, but I have taken it deer hunting, and it's never missed. It has 5 deer notches.

I don't think I will ever sell this gun, it is too accurate, and I keep it in my safe because I'd never want to see someone get it that is bent on doing evil.

As has been stated, for multi fire situations get the .223.

For a put it down at distance round, get the .308.

Have had my DPMS .308 for a year now. With me at the helm it is good to 275 yards.
With more skilled shooter 350+

To only have one AR15 I would go with the 223. Ammo is everywhere and very universal. In a doomsday scenario, I believe that 223 would be more readily available. Get the first one 223 and then as many members on this board have multiple class weapons, add a 308 later on. Both are fine calibers.

My remington 700 sps tactical. Great rifle and shoots moa's like matts. Have better optics on it now. I love 308's in bolt action since they are a long range round. 223 is a great platform for the ar and the only way to go for that imho.

And this is the only way to roll w/ .308 for me. Start with optics and attach a rifle to it

I have a DPMS panther bull 20 in .223. I can shoot 40-75gr bullets no problem.
1/2MOA is pretty common for 5shot group.

.223 is a lot cheaper than .308, and easy on shoulder to shoot all day like a rimfire.

Bull barrel is pretty heavy to carry around much. An HBAR-profile is just as accurate.
