I was at Cabelas yesterday and they had some mighty fine weapons up thar. I was looking at a buying a DPMS in .223 and .308 price was $759. & $1kish both optics ready and 16in (also checked out the Bushmasters). Aside from the weight and price they were identical. I almost pulled the trigger (no pun) but I thought I would ask for your opinions before making a decision. I went up there to buy a Kimber UCII but for the money I would rather buy a nice varmit rifle. :wink1:

Same reason everyone else has these rifles for when zombies attack silly, but what if these zombies have driving capabilities or even worse humvees and larger vehicles i;ve always liked the bigger rounds, thought the .308 was quite a bit heavier, but I doubt I will be out in the bush carrying it for long periods of time. Also the price of ammo was almost the same for target rounds.Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.

a .223 and .308 will do the job for a Zombie, but like CJ said, you'll have cheaper and easier to get ammo with the .223. You'll have more range with .308. My AR is .223 just for the commonality and cheapness. I get 30 round mags for $10 and ammo for next to nothing. I have a .308 in my Remington 700 VTR, but it's just for distance.
