        Well, I don't think I'm gonna get it now, I can't even fit my M16 in one. Pretty sure I don't even have a rifle I could fit in it.

                Amazon sells the same case for $99.

                        Yeah same here. Unfortunately the 36" length isn't gonna work for me.

                        The general rule is add your barrel length +19" to get your OAL of your AR15.

                        24" - 43"
                        20" - 39"
                        16" - 35"

                        So, a 16" standard carbine AR15 will barely fit.

                          i think i measured a 16" AR with std birdcage and 6 pos stock at 33" wwith stock collapsed at min position

                          with the slidefire stock it's now 36.5"

                            that would be collapsed I'm sure. The +19" assumes a fixed stock.

                              If you guys are set on doing your own, check CL in the music instruments for guitar and bass flight cases. I'm sure the nice ones are at least as sturdy as anything else, and some (like Tric) are sealed environment cases for acoustics.

                              Plus the old-school coolness of having your gat in a banjo case gives you instead street cred
