Heh, yeah, I think my glock kicks harder then an AR. You just have to tuck it in real nice.

No, tell them we eat our own children and rape farm animals. We want all the rest of the pinko commies to stay the hell away from our great state. It's worked for Arkansas all these years.

Congrats on breaking the firearms cherry, Steve. I'm glad you had an enjoyable experience with it. I hear ya about skeet shooting, it is extremely addictive and is really a cheap sport to get into. Shotgun shells and a box or two of clays...cheap fun.
I've always enjoyed recreational shooting as a way to clear my head and just take a break from things. Plus, wielding that much destructive power has a certain primal appeal.

That's fantastic! Your world as you know it now has changed. I hope your wife will at least allow you to get a little bit onboard.

Steve, if you didn't like the AR and the .40, be very glad that I didn't bring out my 45/70 and my .454 casull.

You're speaking Greek now. No clue what you just said, but I'll take your word for it. lol.

I did like the AR, it's a SICK gun! So much fun. As for the .40, I didn't mind the kick at all, the reason I disliked it so much is it didn't feel right in my hand at all. The grip felt like rhinoliner that was put on way too thick and the handle itself had a weird angle on it that felt weird in the corner of my thumb. It's hard to explain.

I don't see "kick" as ever being a reason I will dislike a gun since I like a shotgun so much.

I understand, I realize with anything more than a few words around here exceeds the average attention span in this place. God forbid we have a conversation that doesn't involve "tits or GTFO", "ide fuck her in da ass" or political/religous soap box. lol.

Steve, you should look into a round of sporting clays at some point. Its one of my favorites.

Shotguns are a blast. To me the main gun collection should have a bolt action, 22lr, 12 ga, a somewhat powerful semi (AR, AK...etc..etc), a semi-auto pistol and a revolver. (I still don't have a revolver)

After that, it's all icing on the cake. You should get a nice bolt action though w/ scope and play with that for awhile too. They can be fun to shoot too, especially at a little longer distances.
