After that, it's all icing on the cake. You should get a nice bolt action though w/ scope and play with that for awhile too. They can be fun to shoot too, especially at a little longer distances.
I'll agree with Ceyko on the collection. I've been shooting for a few years but till earlier this year finally got the wife on board with owning my own. I started off with a Remington 12 ga pump, then got a Mosin Nagant bolt action rifle, a 1911 in 9mm, and just got a Ruger 10/22 tactical styled 22.

Its funny before even seeing Ceyko's post my mention list still had some sort of 38/357 revolver and possibly an ak/ar

I did like the AR, it's a SICK gun! So much fun. As for the .40, I didn't mind the kick at all, the reason I disliked it so much is it didn't feel right in my hand at all. The grip felt like rhinoliner that was put on way too thick and the handle itself had a weird angle on it that felt weird in the corner of my thumb. It's hard to explain.

I don't see "kick" as ever being a reason I will dislike a gun since I like a shotgun so much.

A .454 casull has about 3 times the energy of a .40, and a stout 45/70 load makes 12g target loads feel like a soft breeze.

I plan on it. I think that is something I could really get into.

As soon as our schedule gives me a chance I plan on doing that very thing.

I mean you can kill something, but sometimes, just sometimes you have to prove a point.

Renato would not approve. That something "Joe Hogan" would say.

Good post Steve! Shit is a lot of fun of its done safely... I bet shooting with Jason and gang is nuts. When its below 90 out give me a call I'd love to go!

I'm with you, I don't like the pop recoil of the 40s. I feel like I have to aim low for it to correct when it pushes up. I'm going to buy a FN five seven that shoots the p90 rounds. Its supposed to be accurate as hell at long range and have almost zero recoil...

I may buy a p90 too for fun cause it looks so fucken cool. Found a place in McKinney with one sitting on wall and it took great constraint to not take it home. They are only a grand and seeing pistols cost that much or more makes a bad ass rifle seem cheap! Only problem with it is u know how it sprays so itd cost a few hundred in ammo to have fun with it. Lmao.

Missed that part. Take her shooting some more.
Its been my experience with women that after they gained familiarity with guns and confidence with their shooting skills they get into guns.

Not afraid of kick huh? Be careful about that. Someone may let you punnish your shoulder with an old bolt action surplus rifle with a metal buttplate....and they aren't even the worse.
