  • J&G Sales is fighting the ATF

As many of you may have heard, the BATFE has sent an unprecedented "demand letter” to all the licensed firearms dealers in the four border states of Arizona, New Mexico, California, and Texas. This will require dealers to report to the BATFE the names and addresses and serial numbers of all purchases of more than one semi-automatic rifle, with a detachable magazine, over 22 caliber, within a 5 business day period. This new and extreme regulation goes into effect for all purchases that occur on or after August 14th, 2011. The BATFE has issued a new form 3310.12 that FFL dealers have to complete and return to the BATFE starting on this date and going forward.

The BATFE and Department of Justice has made this demand on us and on you, with no Congressional authorization. Therefore today J&G Sales has filed suit in the Washington DC federal court challenging this illegitimate regulation. We are being assisted in this law suit by the NRA as well. We hope the outcome of our challenge will be a reversal of this unconstitutional regulation.

Thank you all for your support of the 2nd amendment and will keep you all updated as this case progresses.

Good. I hope they jam it down the throat of this administration. They have zero regard for law.

Next we'll have a presidential decree for the US to be renamed Obamastan. The economy is a mess and he is playing politics with the 2nd ammendment. Similar to how he crammed Obamacare down our throats inspite of what it'll cost.

          More power to J&G!

            good work J&G.

on a side note, when a place runs your background check to sell you a single gun, is the serial number or type of gun being recorded by the ATF or anybody like that?

In Texas the SN is only recorded on the 4473. The phone call to check your background does not (as of May 2011) require the FFL to name the purchase other than rifle or pistol. Now the 4473 must have the SN on it and that is where they are getting you now-a-days (before this new "law").
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Expect a phone call from ATF. Just make sure you are not purchasing to resell.

I was asked how come I bought 10 lowers at one time. "cause I like to build them in different configurations as range guns"

For when some nosey government agency decides they want to kick my door down.

Probably wouldn't go over very well though.

I hope the liberal court system doesn't thwart J&G's suit.

I know there is a better way to do this, but the BATFE is NOT going to use common sense in figuring out a way to do this the right way.

If no one pushes back theyll continue to think they can run over your rights.
I still fail to see how someone LEGALLY buying firearms should be any of their concern. Go catch the worthless fucks doing shit illegally, leave us law-abiding folks alone.

The BATF and DOJ were supplying arms illegally to the Mexican cartels. See Operation Fast and Furious. One if those weapons was used to kill a Boarder Patrol Agent. Before this botched sting was made public, the Obama camp had been putting it out in the media that the Mexican cartels were buying their arms in the US. Long story short, this is fall out for what Obama's appointees did.

                              That was quick.

"Two days after President Obama approved a new rule to crack down on gunrunning to Mexico, a House committee voted Wednesday to block it from taking effect.

The House Appropriations Committee voted 25 to 16 to insert a rider into the Justice Department’s spending bill, prohibiting the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives from implementing the regulation.

The rule required 8,500 gun dealers along the U.S.-Mexico border to report, within five days of sale, multiple purchases of semiautomatic rifles that are larger than .22-caliber and use detachable magazines. The National Rifle Association opposed the reporting requirement.

The amendment was sponsored by Rep. Denny Rehberg (R-Mont.) The spending bill goes to the House, which previously had voted to ban the rule, although that vote never became law."
