I think I might pick one up soon then, I've been seeing them for under $550, I'll try to pick your brain first though.

That's a good price. I find broken ones for around $250 on occasion.

GSXR5K brought over one he was looking to buy and it had a misaligned cocking tube - for example. Century messes up all kinds of things. I looked over their HK93 'attempt', the guy was complaining about magazines falling out. Century didn't drill the mag release straight, it was at such an angle it didn't even grab the mag. They also forget to weld the rails/races on the receivers of the G3's which eventually causes death dimples and out of battery discharges. So, if that doesn't scare you, a good one can be had and they are great guns and really fun if you get one made correctly. I use to think Century made halfway decent guns, but as of late, and the more I seem to see I feel less confident about that to the point now I don't trust them at all.

So is it even possible to bring back a 91 or 93 from Germany if you go there? Not sure how the logistics of that works

Nope, wish there was - I'll be in Germany in two weeks - and I'd be all over that. Most citizens in Germany do not own weapons. We treat them as a tool here in the US. In Germany they are a privilege - you need official approval for every weapon, they make the decision, not you.

Century CETME's are very hit and miss, really need to know what you're doing to buy one - they really messed them up quite often - but you can find good ones if you know what to look for. I can give you a few things to look for when buying one to identify problems they usually have. A good shape CETME is an awesome gun for the money, the best .308 rifle for the money there is.
I noticed CDNN has PTR's for $850-1000. Is that a good price?

That is a great price. Anything below $1200 is good. Yale and I went to a gun shop in Austin one time and I was filling out the 4473 to buy one, but then the guy told me that it was chambered in 7.62x39. I almost cried.

They have some pretty good deals there. Do they have an actual store front in Abilene where you can go and pick the stuff up?
