HB 86, CCW on college campus

Thought I'd pass this along.

One of the many new Republican House members hit the ground running and has pre-filed HB 86 which would allow adult college and university students, faculty, and staff with a Texas Concealed Handgun License to have this option of personal safety on their college campus in ways currently either restricted by Texas law or by campus rules.

Representative-elect David Simpson (R-Longview) pre-filed HB 86 and has met with TSRA. Expect to see several more versions of this issue filed before the 2011 deadline for bill filing.
