Dude, go buy a Glock police trade in for 350$. Carried a lot, generally shot little, rock solid and cheap.

im not gonna lie guys. idk shit about pistols. i grew up shooting shotguns and rifles. ive shot a handgun maybe 4 or 5 times in my life. im kinda looking for a good solid gun that i guess i can learn on but keep for a long time. i dont have the kinda scratch to be buying up all these sweet lookin firearms like you guys.

You can't beat the police trade ins that are on the market right now. Consider making your first hand gun a revolver. A basically unused full size S&W .38 in stainless steel can be had for under $300 including shipping. Many of the ones that I have gotten recently have had some action work done to them. I bet ya that some old fart police armorers in departments across the country worked on the guns that they had laying around just because they liked them.
