although i have to say if you knock kimber on it's huge gay logo, i'm surprised you like how that one says "DESERT EAGLE 1911 G" in all caps ghetto font.
    Ghetto better than gay!

Mostly just didn't want to jump on the "Kimber Wagon"...even though I'm jumping on the 1911 wagon!

[QUOTE=aggie97;290201]Overpriced and gay logo printed HUGE on the slide.

I can understand, but there is a reason that bandwagon is huge. They are a great gun.

This. I've enjoyed every Kimber I have fired and held. I soooooo badly want a Super Carry Custom, just the way the grip fits in the hand and how light it is. Oh so nice.

I have two and love them. Sure they may "seem" overpriced but what custom 1911 isn't now a days? As far as gay logo, you gotta be kidding right? Seriously?

Kimber is a name for a stripper...not a badass handgun!

The ones I looked at were nice but not worth what they were asking, especially compared to the price on the DE. Most of the kimber pistols were designed for carry use and that was not the purpose of this purchase. I already have a carry weapon so no need to spend big money....although I ended up spending about $150 more than I wanted, but this is $600 more gun than what I was looking at. VERY NICE! May go shoot it this afternoon.

Most kimbers are not even custom when they say "Kimber Custom shop". They slap that name on every model in their line these days.

How about the new Ruger. I would get one of these before I bought RIA!

You can buy a les baer for 1400, or an sti trojan for 1000. Both guns are far nicer than most off of the shelf kimber, springfield, etc.

i didnt like my les baer, it was "klunky" and non of us could get it to perform properly. Traded it for a wilson combat spec ops9 and never turned back.

Now im a believer in wilsons, but i still think they are really expensive and probably wouldnt buy one due to price.

What do you mean by "klunky"? All of the les baers that I've shot have been super tight. A couple in fact that were so tight that some people could not pull the slide back.

Mine was extremely tight as well. it was extremely heavy and hard on follow up shots because the trigger was to heavy and the recoil was pretty rough.

most definately not as smooth and crisp as the wilson (the cartirage may have a ton to do with it) i havent shot a .45 wilson yet

x2. I'll be burried with my 38 super, love that gun. Love my colts period. I'll be picking up a commander in 38 super soon if I have my way.
