    I do it all the time. Say an accident is blocking a lane. I can direct traffic contrary to existing traffic control devices.

    See, it's not always black and white.

      Yeah it is. Texas Transportation Code has about 30 instances with the exception "unless otherwise directed by a police officer."

        Kind of like being drunk in a privately owned vehicle, getting stopped and having the car towed now makes you intoxicated in public. PI is one I will never agree with but there have been many cases here on the board.
        Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

          The way I read the law, without a CHL, you can carry the weapon concealed in the vehicle not on your person. Glovebox, dayplanner, center console, etc, but not on your person.

          Bear in mind the Non-applicability of 46.15
          Code:
          PC 46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS. (a) A person commits
          an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries
          on or about his or her person a handgun, illegal knife, or club[B] if the
          person is not:[/B]
          (1) on the person's own premises or premises under the person's
          control; or
          [B](2) inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle that is owned
          by the person or under the person's control.[/B]
          (a-1) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly,
          or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a
          motor vehicle that is owned by the person or under the person's
          control at any time in which:
          [B](1) the handgun is in plain view;[/B] or
          (2) the person is:
          (A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor
          that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic;
          (B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or
          (C) a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section
          71.01.
          Code:
          PC 46.15. NONAPPLICABILITY. (a) Sections 46.02 and 46.03 do
          not apply to:
          ...
          [B](b) Section 46.02 does not apply to a person who:[/B]
          (1) is in the actual discharge of official duties as a member of the
          armed forces or state military forces as defined by Section 431.001,
          Government Code, or as a guard employed by a penal institution;
          [B](2) is traveling;[/B]
          (3) is engaging in lawful hunting, fishing, or other sporting activity
          on the immediate premises where the activity is conducted, or is en
          route between the premises and the actor's residence or motor
          vehicle, if the weapon is a type commonly used in the activity;
          ...
          (j) The provisions of Section 46.02 prohibiting the carrying of a
          handgun do not apply to an individual who carries a handgun as a
          50 CCP Art. 17.292(1) TEXAS CONCEALED HANDGUN LAWS
          participant in a historical reenactment performed in accordance with
          the rules of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

            DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS COP! In his perfect world of his mind (which BTW is skewed). You're messican ass would have been in the dungeon of the Kaufman county jail.
            If you were pulled over, I would have told him that I left my wallet at home, but I know my DL number, also would have told him my vehicle was in my name. Let him dig the shit up, IF he then starts asking questions about my CDL, then answer his questions of where and when. My CDL instructor (ex-cop) said never give them any more info then they ask for, he said if you don't believe him to watch the show COPS, lmao! He was right on all accounts, remember, anything you say CAN and WILL be used against YOU in a court of law.

                  Yeah if you have your wallet with you, first thing I would have done is hide that bitch somewhere on my bike/vehicle. You get pulled over and you start giveing info about your gun and no wallet, after they arrest you, they will clear shit up at the station later, but for right now the revenue generating process must continue.
