So which range(s) are going to let me enjoy my Garand? Shooting anything besides FMJ out if one is not really an option. Id love to source some 150 gr jacketeded HPs for reloading and varmints but I'm not having much luck.

I want to shoot the Garand and collect my brass for reloading. I'd like to go out this weekend too.

    Thanks.

Garland is out since you have FMJ rifle

Elm Fork does allow FMJ on their tactical 50 yard range, but I can't remember if they're allowed on the 100 yard range. Give them a call, see what they say.

Want to break clays with your shotgun, shoot reactionary steel with your handgun, sight in a new scope, or get training? There is no better destination than Elm Fork Shooting Sports.

Getting jacketed HPs are EASY. Hornady sells 150 grain Amax's.

I actually have a box of A maxes to load.... they are quite expensive for bullets.

Sierra makes pretty light .308 bullets, too. Poke around their website.

The service at gibsons sucks and makes you not feel wanted at that range.

I went and shot today at elm creek on the 35 yard tactical range. They are building a 50 yard one and it looks as if it'll be open soon.

My wife shot her SIG too.

It was an alright experience except the range officer calling my rifle a grandpa gun. His Granada won ww2 with that rifle so he should be mire respectful.

Finding my 30-06 brass was easy. Just look for the bug ones.

Practice and some hand loads will tighten things up more too.

I'm going to get some speer 125gr HPs. I have some 150 FMJ to load too.

We shot 96 rounds of 30-06 and just 100 9mm today.

He was just jealous is all. BTW, thanks for bringing out your Garand on the same day and time that I was there. I stepped in to watch the shooter put it through its paces. Up until then, I have only seen them on a "static display", never in action. Myself and some friends were in the next range plinking with handguns. Once, during a low in the gun shots, we heard the distinctive ping of an empty clip.

By far my favorite rifle shoot. A close second is the M1a.

Next time we should meet there and you can shoot it. I share. I went through a dozen clips. I'm going to get some HP bullets so I can shoot further out. I think the jacketed HPs from Speer will feed just fine.

It was shooting a bit high and left. I'm not going to worry about high at that close of a range though. I took out a bit if the left but probably need 1 click more. I forgot to bring binoculars. I'll grab them next time for sure.
