My first air gun....

No, I had just stepped out of the house, and never had a target to fire at. Besides, my neighbors all know me. We have 2 Dallas cops, an Irving cop, me, a Tarrant Co Probation Supervisor and 2 National Guards on my CUL-de-sac. We have more guns than MPD.

I'd imagine that there isn't any crime in that neighborhood, I'd gladly be your neighbor. heh

We've never had an offense on my block in almost 8 years. The fact that we work shift work and come and go at all hours helps as well.

One of the Dallas officers is a K-9 and he has his marked Tahoe as a take home vehicle.

Have you popped a rabbit with it yet? I just found a deal on one and remembered this thread. I just want to be sure it'll do the trick at up to 20 yards or so.

Would it be illegal to paint a shell in similar fashion, and park it in my driveway, so long as I don't drive it, nor do I attempt to impersonate an officer?

Seems that would be cheaper than a nice security sytem, and probably more effective.

The Gamo rifles are pretty damn good. Bought one for my girlfriends son one year for his b-day and went to sight it in and found that it was blowing holes through the back stop. Told him that he was going to another present instead of the rifle.

I have a coyote problem in my neighborhood and bought an air rifle to go after them with but it is louder then a .22mag rifle so I can only take one shot and then hustle my ass home before the PD shows up. Beats using a 12ga though; had the PD driving through my neighborhood all night once after dropping a coyote in the alley.

The idea of CJ's lug nut cannon is very appealing. Pictures?

Statutorily I don't believe it would be illegal, but it would be very expensive to replicate a real marked unit.

I don't really understand how loud ya'll air rifles are. While not whisper quite, this one is not loud at all.

This is my coyote killer. It will only drop them in their tracks with a pellet in the brain; a lung/heart shot will kill them but it takes a little longer. Does quite a number on rabbits to. Don't know what makes it so damn loud.

Scarecrows look nothing like real people, and criminals are usually more stupid than a crow, I don't think it's take all that much. Black and white spray paint, and one of those magnetic lights like on Starsky and Hutch should do it.

I made it years ago, just a pressure tank, 180* bend, rainbird sprinkler valve, 3 9v batteries and a barrel.
