    Alpine

    Alpine shooting range do they allow steel core do they magnet test? I can't find anything on there website about it. Thanks

      Alpine is pretty strict about no full metal jacket rifle ammo at all. I'm pretty much a regular out there and they still check mine. Doesn't matter if it's penetrator ammo or not, no FMJ of any kind. And buy your ammo elsewhere, their prices are ridiculous!

        Every time I'm there, they inspect the ammo. Last time I was there the guy saw the WOLF boxes from a distance and said "Hey, you can't use that". I told him it was Wolf hollow point and he came over to see for verification. Once he saw it was hollow point, he told me it was OK to stay and shoot.

              Well I called alpine and the guy just said no fmj and the reason I'm asking is b/c I bought this cheap ammo and I'm hoping I can use it. This is what I got. http://www.cabelas.com/catalog/produ...BC%3BIK-217515

                If it's hollowpoint, it's fine. They don't make hollowpoint that is also penetrator, it would kind of be an oxymoron.
                Hang on to at least one of the boxes to show them, just in case there's any question.

                    There is a 55gn FMJ/55gn HP and 62gn FMJ/62gn HP.
