What is the advantage of this?

Also how much could this be built for if one were to do it themselves including the tax stamps etc...

It is supposed to be cleaner since the gas is not traveling back to the bolt. I've never used one so I don't know.

I think your second question varies by brand ect. Are you looking to build that exact gun, or just a a suppressed SBR with a billet lower?

(If it were me I would probably just buy that for simplicity's sake. Seems like a good package deal, but I don't know a ton about NFA stuff.)

I guess as far as the upper, lower, stock, optics, etc it could be any brand. As far as the SBR stuff goes who is selling these barrels and I wonder if any suppressor will fit inside a standard floating hand guard.

Short of the supressor, you should be able to build an SBR gas-piston upper with that kit cheaper than you could buy one off the shelf.

It is definitely cleaner. I've been out with my buddy who has an Osprey piston kit on his middy. I was sitting there cleaning my ass off while he was already cracking a beer by the grill.

Might be a great fit to my future 16" 7.62x39 build.

Grabbed 2 midlength kits, one for my safe queen and I'll probably sell the other one to my buddy for his new middy. I'm pretty damn stoked about not having a bunch of poo gas in my receiver anymore.

Nice. I got a carbine-length kit. I'll be doing an SBR carbine.

sigh... looking at the pistol length for my .300.... damnit I wish it was a complete bolt. And, it says the gas block will not clear any handguard... which means I wouldn't have a hardguard on my rifle... I don't like that at all.

It just means you can't have one that covers it. Doesn't Keith's line up with the top of his quad rail?

right, but on a pistol setup I'm only going to have 2-3" of handguard and then jack shit after that. I'd like to see if there was one available, however I don't see how since you have to pull it out the front to clean it.

They've also got a pistol-length quad rail on closeout. You might call 'em.
