  • AR buffer tube

I already purchased a mil-spec carbine length buffer tube, this one to be exact.
BCM AR15 stock Mod 0 (black) is the strongest lightweight polymer stock for your Mil-Spec receiver. Snag-free, with QD sling sockets, and made in the USA.

Can I still use a mid length upper with this stock? Will I need to change out the buffer and spring?

I'm hoping I didn't get ahead of myself because I already purchased a Mil-Spec MOE stock from Magpul
    http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG400/82.

Also, why did manufactures start building Mil-Spec and Commercial stocks and buffer tubes?

The upper I intend to use is the Ruger 556.

Am I still good to go with this set-up. Thanks.

One last thing, since I didn't get in on the group buy for the stripped lowers, some one wanna sell me one?

I have a buddy who has a Rugger 556 rifle; it is completely different than the standard AR15 clones we are used to. They were pretty much redesigned and I believe that nothing from standard ARs will work with Ruger's design except magazines (in other words, all Ruger specific parts). Same with the Sig Sauer rifle, I believe.

Of course I could be wrong since I do not own one, but I'd look into it before ordering anything so you don't waste money.

I appreciate that bit of info. I am also looking into Adams Arms uppers.

This would be my other option.

        You should be just fine.
I use the carbine buffer/spring with my midlength upper with no problem at all.

The Ruger upper should drop right onto a normal lower.

Same here. Should be fine. I got a Spike's tactical ST-T2 buffer for mine because it would periodically not lock back on the last round fired. No more issues after that little guy got installed....but most won't need it.

I am happy with my Adams Arms piston conversion I did on my S&W 16". If I could afford it I would convert all my ARs to piston with their kits.

I ran 200 rounds after doing the swap and it functioned flawlessly (some suppressed). I took temp readings of slow fire and rapid fire rates and even after going through 200 rounds I never could get the bolt or bolt face to read over room temp.

Midway had some AA uppers on sale not too long ago. You may want to keep an eye there for a good deal.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Gents, I do appreciate the responses. I was worried I may have made a mistake on buy the carbine length buffer/spring.

Also, what's going on in the black rifle world. A majority of the uppers and complete rifles show "out of stock" on most websites, especially Bravo Company Manufacturing. I read that BCM temporary listed "out of stock" on most rifle/uppers to fill orders, but what was the reason for the high demand.

It seems that it's not limited to just rifle/uppers, but parts as well.

I did just one search for this buffer and found this "out of stock", BTW thanks for the reply.
The H2 (Heavy) carbine AR15 buffer is a standard USGI part for the M4A1 Carbine. Weighted with 2 tungsten and 1 steel weight to 4.6oz.

I wasn't dead set on the Ruger upper. The price between the two will most likely dictate what upper I go with.

I hadn't planned on doing a second AR build until I started reading about piston uppers. After reading about the benefits of the piston driven system that you just described, I knew I had to have one.

I forgot about Midway, appreciate the tip. I did a search for the Adams Arms upper I'm interested in and found this.

They're cheaper than Rainier Arms, but the usual "out of stock" has infected Midway also, lol. Seems like I'll have to be patient.

I bet you're right. I didn't even think about tax returns. I got a whopping 270 back, so nothing went towards anything related to firearms. I forget that some people get returns in the thousands.

Right? I can't even remember the last time I had a return. Tax day is Tax day for me, I pay shit.
