good price , pretty durable for that price range too.
    so far happy with it.

I'd have to agree with the comments about iron sights too.
having played with many cheap scopes and sights - a good set of iron sights are priceless if you can use them.
really there is NO BETTER way to learn.
ill be the first to admit though I am just not fond of iron sights commonly found now, like peep sights , or leaf ones that can bumped around.
but for the distance / accuracy you are talking about - any irons would work fine.
now for speed, I really feel red dots are hard to beat.
    Own one too, love it!

I'm going to have to echo the "keep iron sights until you can afford a good optic" crowd.

It will not only help your fundamentals, but the cheaper optics just aren't worth their price.

I'd dump the carry handle and get a flip up rear sight for when you do decide to get an optic.

Not anymore. Most everyone is phasing out rifle training threw iron sights and only training with optics.

I hunt way more than I punch paper so I mostly use optics, much better for judging game and seeing brush etc. in the line of fire. Also easier shot placement, especially at longer ranges.......

But I believe everyone should be proficient with iron sights too.....

That doesn't mean he shouldn't try.

Take a couple boxes of ammo to the range. Take your time, relax and LEARN TO SHOOT WITH OPEN SIGHTS.

No optic is going to completely make up for being a crappy shot. It can partially mask some bad habits, but you won't be doing yourself any favors.

Yeah, I see your point. I think the general thought was..."Hey, instead of a cheap scope focus on the iron sights." What may have been unsaid was ..."then save up for something decent."

I know what your point is but I'n not a crappy shot bro. I can keep a nice tight pattern with my old ass winchester pump .22 (62a) at 50 yards. Let me rephrase my question.. What is a nice set of iron sights that an average shooter could be accurate with around 50 yards.. lets say a 3-5 inch pattern. I just enjoy having fun at the range.. If you wanna meet up and shoot it you will see what im talking about..

what are you shooting , ammo wise too?
man I shot some cheap .223 through my old bushy and was amazed at how crappy it was.

I did some blasting this weekend, and got the damn sheriff out where we were at!
sucks, running out of good directions to shoot out there. Im thinking a backstop may be the only thing to get them off our case in the future.

Curious, do the cops generally just tell ya to stop or does it get messy with tickets and weapon confiscation?
