What do you guys think of the micro compact db380? Looks very similar to the glock, and I wonder why glock didn't make their own version instead

I've heard nothing but bad things.

I bought a DB380 last April or May. I read on the DB forum that the earlier production issues were ironed out. WRONG!
I spent more time fixing feeding/ejection issues than I did shooting it. Every 2-3 shots would either FTF or FTE. At the end of that first range trip, it started failing to fire. You'd pull the trigger, it would click but not hit the primer. Rack the slide and it may fire. After that the trigger broke internally.
The shop sent it back in for me. It took them a month to fix it. When it came back it had an "upgraded lower" but the sight paint was all smeared.

Luckily the shop I bought it from put the $ toward another pistol of my choice. They also returned their stock and won't sell them when they saw the issues mine had.

I bought one new and really like it. It took some time with a honing stone and some polishing wheels to make it happy though. It also must be feed hi po ammo. WWB doesn't make it happy. Mine likes Gold Dots the best.

Then I'll be more clear about the whole process.

Step 1; I sign for a next day air package then open it to find the DB380 inside.

Step 2; I open the package and then completely disassemble the DB380 to see what makes it tick. I grin because other then the spring on the action bar being used to perform 2 task I really like what I see.

Step 3; I test fire the gun after reassembling and lubing it with a through soaking of rem oil using various lower power target ammo and find that has issues cycling when using weak for a .380 ammo.

Step 4; I remove the slide and re-lube the gun using synthetic grease. Weak target ammo will now function a lot more reliably then before.

Step 5; I disassemble the DB380 into its component parts and toss every metal part except for the barrel into a vibrating polisher. I then deburr every single edge that I can find on every metal part except for the barrel. I put some extra effort into the extractor where it really scrapes the brass as it is pulled from the magazine.

Step 6; I polish the feed ramp with a dremel tool using a felt bit with a little jewelers rouge. I remover a slight burr on the under side of the ramp with a fine stone. I then polish the bore with Rem 40X cleaner.

Step 7; I lap the slide to the OD of the barrel and to the lugs using colegate toothpaste and cycling the action by hand a few hundred times.

Step 8; I buff tungsten disulphide powder into the feed ramp and the OD of the barrel.

Step 9; I clean and reassemble the gun using Miltec lube and hit the range again. I find that all target ammo will now work ok. I attribute this to the spring losing a bit of tension after a period of beak in. The spring is very stiff when new. My spring tester is made for valve springs and I could not test the spring tension nor do I even know what it is.

Step 10; Test various types of premium ammo to see what the gun likes. It really likes Buffalo Bore +P 100gr hard cast and 95gr JHP but I only had a small amount of that on hand. Of all of the premium ammo that I had on hand in large amounts it liked Speer's 90gr gold dots the best.

I think that only solidifies what Yale was saying.

You see a lot of used ones floating around for sale. I would assume there is a reason for that...

Why do all that work on a DB when a less expensive LCP right out of the box can shoot any .380 ammo you feed it?

My girl friend will not give me my LCP back and I don't really like the LCP.

                            The DB380 looks neat.

I do this to every single semi-auto pistol that I own.
