Yes that is true, but nine times out of ten the neards tune out after you say things such as "trust formation... sheriff signature... $200 tax... ATF paper... 3 month wait", lol. Some people just dont have the patience man.

Hell, I wouldnt have the patience to wait on a barrel like you did!

It is easy. Land in Afghanistan and order part. Land in Texas 4 months later and part is there, or should be. If not, fly back to Afghanistan and repeat the process.

When I bought my cans, it was on the last day of my R&R. I was probably on a plane going back to work before my forms and checks were even put in the mail. When I landed in DFW 3-4 months later we went and had lunch, drove across the highway to CTD and picked up my cans and forms.

Because I am always gone the wait is nominal. Just like the GB for lowers. I didn't care how long it took for them to come in. I was prepared to wait until September until I managed to get a flight to Dallas for one night in town.

Oh and I got a tracking number for my Bar-Sto barrel in 5.75" threaded

Storm Lake called me back and I ordered a 3.75" for the subcompact, threaded. It won't be ready till August/September. They have not started to produce them yet so it could be longer than quoted.

Well, its not like they told you 2 weeks and it took 5 months. Any time someone quotes estimated lead time at 4 to 4.5 months, I would think it is prudent to anticipate further delays.

I would be interested to hear about the quality of the part, though, I have thought about buying a barrel in the past from them, but wasn't sure about the quality of their work.

I guess my math is not 100%.

Ordered Nov 4 2010 expecting 16 weeks maybe a little more. By the time I will get the barrel (May 1) it will have been 24 weeks. I am still not that shocked and I was not an impatieint customer up until the point that when I called to check on it I never got a call back.

Besides the barrel would have done me no good sitting in a box at home while I am still out of the country. I just wanted to make sure I was not forgotten.
