Man, I read the Hobbit and all three of the LOTR books and enjoyed them, but the amount of attention I had to direct to that has kept me from being even mildly interested in the movies. I saw the Fellowship of the Ring, but I was out after that.

I like RA Salvatore and that character, but I think the series lost me at The Halfling's Gem. Still, probably my favorite series back when I was a D&D playing teenager.

I haven't been following....did they abandon the plan to do "There and Back Again" by the book and release it in 2013, but to do a "bridge" movie in 2012 that ties "LOTR" to "The Hobbit?"
