No, he means that eating 5000 calories of any kind of food in 1 day is bad for you.

Fat Head essentially explains that people are not forced to eat fast food. This guy loses weight and improves his health by eating fast food while "using his brain" rather than stuffing his face with every item on the menu. It is a matter of personal choice on what one decides to do with their diet.

It's an interesting documentary to say the least.

So, how is what Super Size Me said untrue at any level? Nobody said people are forced to eat fast food. They just eat fast food because it's easy and remember. SSM was released back in 2004, before McDonalds really offered a healthy menu. It was eat something fattening with a ton of sodium or eat something extremely fattening with even more sodium.

McDonalds was the food he ate in the movie, but I think he was trying to bring attention to all fast food that at the time didn't have healty alternatives on their menu.

Even if you use portion control, when you're eating typical fast food menu items, you're not getting very much nutrition regardless of weight gain or no weight gain.

First off, I don't think the conclusion he offered was untrue (eat large amounts of food everyday, get fat). I was just trying to explain what Stevo meant. For example, the food log was never released and, according to what Spurlock said he ate every day (3 meals), it wasn't possible for him to eat an average of 5000 calories. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccdfzq2M1Ec

I also agree that you're not getting nutrition either way. The point is that one doesn't HAVE to order a giant meal or eat at a certain place. The angle that Super Size Me took was one that blamed fast food companies for making people fat by not offering healthy items. However, the fast food industry just offers a product people buy because they want to. I see fast food now offers healthier items and yet I don't order them. I order the cheeseburger and fries because I want them.

Fat Head takes the opposite angle and blames people for their own choice of unhealthy meals. Regardless of where your food comes from, or how much nutritional content it has, eating 2-3000 calories over your recommended allowance isn't good for you.

I'm not siding with fast food being a good choice of a meal I just don't think it is right to single out an industry or point fingers at anyone but the person eating the food. On the other hand, I do hope it was an eye-opener to those who do eat poorly more often than not and actually force them to look at what they eat.

Wow, it must be by some freakin miracle that troops live healthy lives after eating MREs for months. Galley food? It's a wonder the Navy isn't dead and gone. Talk about pre-processed.

Nothing like anecdotal evidence to bolster an argument.
