They sell more than that world wide. They control the entire world's seed supply. Nothing more than corporate thugs.

I knew it was insanely high. I suppose immediate obsolescence is a great business model.

Where my wife went to school as a child, her school actually taught her that song the kids are singing in the intro. "Pizza Hut, Pizza Hut, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Pizza Hut. Mcdonalds Mcdonalds."

I just looked at her in amazement the first time she sang it and I felt so bad for our country.

The one right around the corner from me is pretty awful most of the time. If I venture out into the suburbs I can find some decent stuff, but it's a lot of effort for something that's pretty hit or miss.

Monsanto IS the devil. I've absolutely never been one to hop on the corporation-bashing wagon, but I'll bash the fuck out of those slimy fucks.

I learned that in elementary also.

Basically, yes. It's kind of a complicated definition more accurately defined by mass of water (not volume) at specific pressure (1 atmosphere, or about 14.7 psi) and change in temperature. It's easier to conceptualize and work with the unit in terms of volume and change in temperature, and for practical purposes, it is a reasonable approximation.

I got my 2 gallons number earlier by taking 576 Calories for the big mac and dividing by 77 (temperature change from 23° C to 100° C) to get 7.48 liters (1.97 US Gallons) of water because an approximate equation is 1 Calorie = 1°C * 1L water.

A nutritional calorie is a Calorie (note capitalization) which is a kilocalorie, or 1000 calories - as Yale said.

Anyway, that's all technical and boring.

No kidding. It's been a while since I saw it, didn't his doctor advise him to stop eating McDonald's everyday because he was showing signs of liver damage?

I've slowly been trying to get away from highly processed foods, but it takes planning meals and packing my own lunches to really be consistent with it. My natural inclination to be lazy makes fast food much more prevalent in my diet than I care for.

If ya'll think what Monsanto is doing is scary, you have no idea. Another tidbit - Obama's Food Czar is a former Monsanto Executive. Nah, food company execs and the FDA aren't in bed together. The FDA would NEVER approve food or drugs before thorough testing was complete. Nothing to see here folks, run along now!

As I recall, 2 weeks into the experiment the doctor told him that 'if he didn't know what was going on, he would think the patient was an alcoholic on a bender.'

I didn't eat McD's for over 3 years after watching that. I still only eat it as a last resort. It has fast-acting bad effects on my system now.

Yeah, his doctor looked genuinely worried about him. It took him over a year to drop the weight back off, the last 4 pounds I think taking nearly 9 months. I've been eating much healthier lately(which still isn't that great, considering how crappy I was eating before), and I'm going to be paying much more attention to what I'm eating from here out. I'm going to check out those other films that were recommended too. Good motivation.

Food Inc is still on Netflix streaming, btw.

Another movie i've been wanting to check out is called, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead".

Watch Joe's 3 films: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead 1 and 2 plus the Kid's menu for free! See how Joe transformed his life and helped others.

Although it's a bit extreme, it's about a juice fast and the health benefits received.

The DVD will be available for purchase in April, so I'm sure it might show up on some torrent sites then too.

My roommates just happen to have netflix, so I'll check out Food Inc. Thanks for the netflix suggestion.

71chevellejohn, I've managed to eat at McDonalds only twice in the last 8 months. I swore it and Sonic off. Sonic mostly because the fries just smell and taste wrong to me. Wendy's fries actually taste like potato, by comparison.
