Read Coops link. I saw another one last night also from another source. He called her three times. Twice with a blocked number then after she was dead he did not block his number. Also they found her PDAs or whatever in the burn barrel with her. He set up that appointment as if it was his sister and her car to be photographed because she had already had run ins with him. He bought the shackles two weeks earlier also. The guy was fucked up. I imagine he figured he could get by doing it and claim to be the victim again.

I have no doubt that he in all likelihood killed the lady but I also have no doubt that the police monkeyed with the evidence. The bullet was planted, the keys were planted, his blood in her car was planted, her car on his lot may have been planted. There is also no doubt in my mind that his nephew had nothing to do with the killing or rape. This reminds me of a low budget keystone cops version of the OJ trial in how badly the evidence has been messed with.Magnus, I am your father. I sort of changed back after the EDTA testing too. That was the smoking gun for me. I didn't know they put stuff in test tubes to preserve blood but I was shouting the whole time to test for something that could be found in the test tube vs human body.
It is still puzzling that if she was shot in the head in the garage or in the bedroom there would but some evidence of blood somewhere.1971 Ford Torino - Time to go bigger and better.

I've watched the entire series and read a few things on the interwebz too.
IMO;
Brendan's entire trial and confession were both a disgusting farce. The confession has to be thrown out. Its coercion at best, and coercion of a mentally challenged minor in reality. How that was admitted without a lawyer or guardian present I have no idea.
Steven's case is a little more complex, but it mostly relies on circumstantial (and likely planted) evidence. None of her blood is found anywhere except her car and thats the complete disconnect for me. If he performed this bloody messy murder there should be blood traces everywhere. And if has smart enough to clean the blood from his room and garage he would surely be smart enough to disposed of the car itself or at least the blood in it.
I think Brendan's step dad and brother have something to do with this. They only alibied by each other and their timeline is way off. Plus they both admit to going hunting with .22s around the time of her disappearance and murder with a..... .22. Something stinks with them.
A close second on my perp list is the ex-boyfriend. Him tampering with the phone messages just raises a red flag.
There is an entire subreddit dedicated to this show and these cases. There are some wild theories out there about how she was a drug dealer masquerading as this photographer and thats why the boyfriend and brother broke into her VM to erase incriminating evidence to the fact.1971 Ford Torino - Time to go bigger and better.

I think its pretty cut and dry on the second case. He's guilty but it was sloppy. The main problem is that the people that got on camera wanted so hard to make it sound like they were the top dogs when they should've just kept their mouths shut. There is no need for them to have spelled their case out for the media and in doing so they made all sorts of stupid statements about the original department not being involved and other comments. The nephew i believe is guilty as well, however, i dont think they proved their case in court. The interviewers led him into confessing and making statements without council which wouldn't be allowed in Texas. Also i dont think he was competent to be interviewed that first time, it was obvious he had no clue what the consequences could be.
another thing i just thought of that i found odd was i thought they said he was guilty of murder and sex assault but not guilty on mutilation of a corpse. with the story the state put on i would think all three would have to be unanimous. I dont see how you can be guilty of only part of the three. I was surprised that was not a hung jury mistrial.
