  • HBO Now, for cable cutters

Has anyone tried HBO Now? I was thinking about it, for a month it's $15, cheaper than buying a season of something from Apple TV or Amazon. Looking at the preview, you can access every season of their series, so I'm seriously thinking of trying it for as month. Still waaaaay cheaper than what I paid to DirecTv!

Cut the cord years ago and will never go back.

Too many other less expensive options.

Currently loving my Nvidia Shield with Kodi and Genesis streaming.

I don't recall when we cut DirecTv out, but don't really miss it at all. We use Netflix and have Amazon Prime (used for mostly the 2 day shipping and a few shows), and of course the OTA for local stuff. Recently started watching True Blood, wife likes it now, and wanted to pay to get the last 2 seasons. I was like NO WAY! For $25 a month, I could get both HBO and Showtime streaming apps and have access to all their shit. Even that would be more than I'd watch, and about 99% cheaper than cable/satellite!

We finally have decent enough internet speeds that I have been watching more streaming than Dish.. I just have to convince Leah to cut the cord. Hell, When we met I hadn't had cable or dish for a couple of years, and was totally fine with it. And that was before streaming TV was available. Local channels via antenna and a small VHS collection was plenty.

We already have Prime and Netflix..

Disconnect the box on the TV she watches most, and tell her you already reported it and they are sending a new one. Bet after a couple days, she won't miss it!

HBO only for $15 a month seems steep.

It is, but that's what it costs to add HBO to whatever TV package you have once the promo deal runs out.

Haha, we have the Dish Hopper thing, with Joeys.. And she's the one that calls on stuff like that. In fact, she just had them out fixing one the other day.

                  Damnit!
When Lyn thought it wold be too hard to cut cable, I had her try it for a week with the antenna hooked directly to her TV and not switch the input to the cable box. After she tried it a few days, she thought, Yeah, OK, I can do this!
Then I called DirecTv and cut them!

We cut it last month. Tivo for recording live tv, Netflix and Hulu is all you need.
