Been to that place once, and it sucked. Uncomfortable seats, extremely shitty picture and sound quality, everything seemed old and dirty. Food sucked (although that has been my experience with every theater, ever), bar was tiny and packed making it tough to get a drink before the show. I don't see the draw, but maybe it's because I don't drink beer.

I went to the Starplex theater on Hulen, mainly because I knew it wouldn't be sold out and is cheap. Maybe 50% capacity on Saturday afternoon.

Has there been any gang disputes or is it true the audience majority are all middle aged whiteys?

It's not really the type of movie that would result in gang disputes. It's just about how NWA formed, and how it split apart afterwards. In fact, i think they only mentioned one actual gang name though the whole movie. At one point they do show bloods and crips seemingly "come together" during the riots. It's very close to being a biographical documentary "recreation". It's mostly revolving around the relationships between the members.

We saw it in Grapevine (Tinseltown) and the audience was probably 30% - 40% black. Much more than usually at that theater, but most appeared to be between 30's - 40's.

No issues with talking during the movie, or phone screens or anything, though there was a kid in there that got a little loud a couple times (sounded like a toddler at best).

I read opening night numbers were 60% males over 30.

Went and watched this Saturday night and loved it. It was nothing like I expected it to be but I was not disappointed by any measure.

It was pretty solid. Next time a hood movie comes out, though, I'm waiting until it hits a streaming service. Fuck being in a theater with a bunch of idiots that can't ignore their phones for two hours.

What I've seen in the workplace is white people can't wait to tell a black person they saw the movie.

Not a problem in my office, our black guy quit 3 months ago.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I got it backwards, the black person asked me if I went and saw it.
