Looks like theaters are hiring extra security for the film. Funny, I don't remember this happening for the Johnny Cash movie...

I worked at the Lancaster Cinemark when Baby boy came out. We had extra security during opening weekend.

I went to see Colors when it came out, in LA. We actually did a Saturday matinee in a nice mall and there were still tons of cops there.

Ah shit, I thought I was the only one that remembers that movie. I was wayyy too young to see that in the theaters.

I was 13.. Back then nobody cared if a 13yo saw a rated R movie in the theaters. But yeah, there was a lot of hype when it came out, worried about gang violence breaking out in the theaters. At least in the LA area.

At the time I lived in Norwalk, less than 10 miles from Compton (though Colors was based more on South Central and East LA).

My oldest brother who passed away a few years ago drove a tow truck in Compton in the 80's. With long hair (he was a Hollywood Blvd rocker).

I think it's a reference to your age? I dunno, I was 18 and saw it in a theater in Loveland, CO. A Disney movie would've had more security.
