Guess I need to watch this!

I went to see black hawk down in the threate when I was in the 7th or 8th grade. I remember laughing my ass off throughout the movie when the gorillas got shot up. I laughed for 5 minutes straight when the little kid turned around and shot his dad a bunch of times. I'm going to hell.

Watched it last night. Well done I thought. It's hard to grasp the gravity of their unique situation without being familiar with the way things transpire between all those different agencies. It was a clusterfuck no doubt, but I'm sure those guys went out happy to be next to their brothers doing what no one else on the planet does better. God rest their souls.

I hope those that made tough decisions that day realize they sacrificed the best of their people in order to save diplomacy with the worst of our enemies.

Downloading tonight. I am not sure I will show it at movie night here with my guys that piss and moan about our situation here. Not sure if it will help my cause (see how much worse it could be?) or hurt my cause (see how much worse it could be?).

My wife and I saw it in the movies before the job offer for this region of Africa came up. We both thought it was very well done and she is not a action movie goer. Now that I work just south of Libya and in the area that I work in, I know that I won't watch it with her again though.
