I was about 9 years old when I heard "Red House" for the first time. It was 1969, and I was at a friend's house when his brother put it on the record player. The solo that follows,"That's alright, I still got my guitar..." still gives me the shivers. No one, and I mean NOBODY, can play the riff anything like Hendrix. It was the '60's, and he was "the Man".

kinda of funny that two of the favorite solo's listed above are srv covers of hendrix songs. while they are good, nothing matches the fire of the originals. speaking of shivers, everytime i hear the opening of all all along the watchtower it has the same effect on me.
