The other favorite band/performer thread got me thinking, what is your favorite guitar solo? I am looking for suggestions to try some different stuff. There are too many Plant solos to name. I have always liked the sounds of John Frusciante as well, and Slash. I heard Sweet Child for the first time in a while and I forgot how awesome that opening rift is.

i would have to say that some of angus youngs solos from the earlier days of ac/dc were pretty wild. i have yet seen anybody that could do what he did while still ripping out a long crazy solo. running around, jumping, gettin on the floor and spinning in circles, everything he does, he NEVER has to look at the fretboard. IMO, best guitarist ever. in terms of tone, clarity, and ways he puts the notes together with the rest of the music.
