IIRC the introduction of other marvel characters is going to set up for a west coast avenger team or new avengers.

This is awesome news, he was MADE for that role. Breathe easy comic book fans, Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man for two more "Avengers" sequels. A tense salary negotiation between the star and Marvel has ended with Downey signing a new two-picture deal, the studio said Thursday. The new pact

Ah, I still wonder what his role will be without the suits. Saw a leaked clip that had Jarvis as Ultron.

That is the biggest hurdle for Marvel.

What do you do when all of these actors get tired of it and are ready to move on? Keep on making the franchise with different actors or move on to other characters.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is ready for a superhero showdown.

The studio head told Empire that they’re not going to change “Captain America 3′s” May 6, 2016 release date just because Warner Bros. is launching “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” on the same day.

“I continue to be all for quality entertainment for moviegoers to enjoy on weekends,” he said. “If it is on the same weekend, I enjoy it slightly less. But we are doing what we’ve always done, which is sticking to our plan and sticking to our vision for the movies going forward and we have a very large vision that we’re working on for ‘Cap 3′ and for all the threes movies and just because another movie plops down onto one of ours, doesn’t mean we are going to alter that. Maybe we should, but we’re not going to.”

It was widely anticipated that one of the two tentpoles would move off the date since they will surely cannibalize each other. WB’s “Man of Steel” debuted to $116.6 million last summer and went on to haul $668 million worldwide, while “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” launched to $95 million in April and has so far earned $712.7 million worldwide.

WB had already secured that date — moving it from July 17, 2015 — three months prior when Marvel made the announcement in early April that the untitled Disney-Marvel project it had slotted for that date would be “Captain America 3.”

“It doesn’t make a lot of sense for two huge superhero films to open on the same date but there is a lot of time between now and 5/6/16,” WB said in a statement back in April. “However at this time, we are not considering a change of date for ‘Batman vs. Superman.’”

Agreed. But I think Marvel will clobber the competition. I think a lot of the target audiences for both films will also see both opening weekend. This is all supposing of course it still happens. There is plenty of time for one of them to blink. I don't think it will be Marvel, especially not after another Avengers movie comes out.

This one part tells me something will change. Both companies are probably thinking the same thing.

If anyone blinks and changes date, it will be Warner Bros.
