that said, the ending of this season shows it's not over as a whole and it wont ever be (goes back to time is a flat-circle). they may have killed 1 monster but the cult remains. when rust was in the hospital bed watching the news, the report was the fbi discredits ties of errol to senator tuttle. it is much bigger (tie that with the stars light/darkness convo at the end).
BUT, it is over for these two detectives. they have resolution in their case (dora lange combined with all the others they discovered in the process). hell, from a character standpoint, rust even says something optimistic for the first time ever.
as far as the yellow king, i don't think that is explained but i think it is just a cult creation of a psuedo-god figure. it is the same cult jibberish as the black star, demon catchers, etc.www.hppmotorsports.com

Someone recommended I check this out recently, and while the story was pretty good, the acting and the dialogue really got its hooks into me in the first episode. I mean:
"I'd consider myself a realist, alright? But in philosophical terms I'm what's called a pessimist... I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware. Nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself - we are creatures that should not exist by natural law... We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, that accretion of sensory experience and feelings, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everbody's nobody... I think the honorable thing for our species to do is to deny our programming. Stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction - one last midnight, brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal."
Brillant stuff. MM and WH going toe to toe with each other early on and Harrelson getting more and more pissed at MM and trying to maintain his composure was some of the best acting I've ever seen period. I've always dug both of their acting styles and they both delivered like I've never seen before... With the possible exception of Dallas Buyers Club.

I have watched this episode 3 times now just to catch the way they shot the last 6 minutes. This scene is being called "the best shot in TV history." That may not seem impressive, until you know what went into it. Link below
What is so astounding is that they filmed the last 6 minutes with one take...and one camera. I can't imagine all the moving parts the director had to get right to get this scene perfect. To top it all off, this is one of the most tense and nerve racking scenes I have ever witnessed.

I caught it.
I am not sure how to feel about it. I don't think I like any of the characters. I am not a Vince Vaughan or Colin Farrell fan. Anything Colin touches pretty much sucks. I think its trying too hard to be like season 1.
I want to like the Rachel Mcadams character, but I guess time will tell.
