That's a pretty bad ass idea. However, I never really "connected" with the borg - maybe that's the idea the writers had in mind though. They were certainly ominous, but they had no real....substance to them.
I'll "connect" with them as long as Alice Krige is the Borg queen.
I have had an idea that would make an awesome new trilogy or TV series. STAR TREK: The Borg Wars. Set in the Next Generation Era after Voyager returns from the Delta Quadrant, the Borg have made the decision to attack the Federation with a full scale invasion force unlike anything we have ever seen. We would see Federation ships built for war that we have never seen; probably designed just for the Borg. Seven of Nine could return in a cameo as the top Federation official on the Borg; we might see Admiral Picard overseeing part of the Earth defenses. Maybe Captain Worf will be seen commanding a Federation Battleship. We would follow Federation Special Forces as they infiltrate Borg command ships, or fight hand to hand as the Borg invasion fleet reaches Earth in one of the later seasons. The Romulans, Cardassians, and other enemies are forced to become allies with the Federation to protect the Alpha Quadrant. Basically you would have 5 or 6 seasons of Star Trek that would be alot like the opening scene of First Contact.
I would love to see this made into a series of movies or a long tv series. They already made a series of books on this concept if you would care to read them. It's a really good read and something the movie makers would do well to follow.
Turns out the Borg are an offshoot of a race called the Caelier (SP?). The Borg have grown tired of dealing with the Alpha Quadrant and are simply rolling though and destroying everything and killing everyone.
It's a really good series of books and a great read. I've been running though them on my Kindle.
I believe it starts with the book Star Trek the Next Generation: Resistance. And goes on for a few books. Six I think.
Anyway on to my favorite Trek Movie/Series, it's hard to pick one. I do have a some favorite scenes usually based around the space battles.
1)The Borg attack during First Contact
2)The huge Federation Vs. The Dominion battle towards the end of the DS9 series.
3)The Enterprise-E Vs the Scimitar
I really enjoyed. the Voyager series. Enterprise had to be the worst series out there.

Thanks, I will have to look into those books.

You know, I didn't really mind Enterprise that much, honestly. The series I liked the least would have to be the beginning of DS9 (once they get the Defiant it got a lot better), and I really didn't enjoy Voyager very much.

Enterprise lost me when it went too much overboard, in my opinion, on the Temporal war and the Xindi plotline. I still watched the whole thing, hoping it'd shift gears. I'm with you on DS9. Star Trek is about exploring, not sitting around in a space station.
