Zero replies? Huh. Anyway, just ALMOST got through watching it through for the second time. The first time I thought it was okay. Gave it the benefit of the doubt. When I heard that it's "This generations Forrest Gump" I had to watch it again because I didn't remember it being THAT good.

Second watch: This movie is bullshit overall. There are a couple of good references and the acting isn't bad. However, the story is forced. Every character that Walter meets is forced down your throat and there's very little character development by anybody but Walter...and that development is simply a guy that did nothing to a guy that did something. In Forrest Gump, you become attached to multiple characters and you can see how those characters influenced Forrest and made him who he was. Not the case here. Fuck this movie, and fuck whoever gave it a good review.

First watch 5/10 for the acting and cool locales.

Second watch 2/10 because despite the good acting, it is a fucking forced scenario'd horrible movie.

It's also a remake of a perfectly good film starring Danny Kaye. If you haven't seen that, watch it.

I'll have to give it a try. I've had it sitting for a while but just hadn't had the time to sit down and watch it. I like your synopsis of Forest Gump. One of my all time favorite movies. Every time I stumble across it on TV I always stop and watch it.

Zoolander, Dodgeball, and Tropic Thunder are the only movies with him in it that I enjoyed.

I got up and walked out after 20 minutes. Luckily it was a $3 matinee.

How can you compare any movie to Forrest Gump?

I've seen it. Forrest Gump is > *

**Edit** I should note that I was being entertained while I watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and did not pay full attention to it.

Agreed. What about There's Something About Mary? I thought that was as good as the movies you mentioned. I thought the Meet the Parents series was ok.

I can't stand any of the meet the parents movies. Something about Mary wasn't that great, IMO of course.

I saw There's Something about Mary when I was like 13 or 14 so I thought it was hilarious and was just happy that my parents took me to a rated R movie with them. I like Ben Stiller when he's not playing Ben Stiller.

I thought this movie was a lot of fun. I agree the characters weren't developed that great and the new boss was pretty over the top, but I still enjoyed it. It is absolutely nothing like Forrest Gump; I have no idea how anyone made that comparison.
