Well that explains a lot. I wondered why he declined. I wonder if UKTG has the same policy, if they do it is broken often lol.

Going to give this another try. The new "season" (because we are in 'Murica and that's what we call it here) started Season 5 last night and I thought it was a pretty good start. Ya some episodes are hit or miss and ya it doesn't compare to TG:UK but what automotive show really does? I find Fifth Gear way more annoying than TG:USA. At least TG:USA doesn't annoyingly berate Americans and American cars like Jeremy Clark does (sure it's part of the shows charm but it gets annoying after a while) but I think the cinematography is comparable even though the challenges are not.

Anyone want to offer a different opinion besides talking shit about the show? It certainly entertains me in a pinch while TG:UK is on break.

Clarkson actually talks trash about everyone. Usually they always hate American cars, its an annoying given.

Top Gear USA, is different. First thing to keep in mind watching it. 5th gear is pretty damn boring. I tried watching it for a bit. If the old guys were not drifting, the chic and young guy were talking about...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
        Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

Clarkson talks trash about every nation in the world. At least the US has Hammond on our side to off set it, most countries just get pummeled by him with no recourse. I find it hilarious, as pompous as a lot of Americans are.

I think it was on the show, but I can't remember for sure, where they were talking about how in Europe they build roads around the sides of mountains, and that's why their cars handle so well. In the US we just blow up the mountain and put a straight road where it used to be. lol

This last season of 5th gear was good. When tiff does Euro Nascar and rally school was entertaining to watch.

1st episode of season 4 TGUSA was solid 7. I'd love to own one of those resto-mods.

What bugs me most about topgear is when they are just flat wrong when talking about cars. Like the time the raced a house with a v6 convertible mustang and said it was a V8 GT. Or the time they said the GT500 had a “supercharged DOHC 4.6l”. Among other times, those are just the ones that stuck with because I found myself yelling at the TV.
Top Gear America has grown on me. The guys have gotten better together, and they have gone from copying the TGUK hosts to being their own personalities.
I like that they ditched the news, and big star little car, and just gone with smoking tires and braking shit! It works for them.
I’ve got this season on DVR.
