    No John Cusack? Booooo.

"Hot Tub Time Machine 2" -- the sequel to the screwball 2010 comedy with the hard-to-resist title -- has begun shooting in New Orleans. Production on the MGM-backed feature, directed again by Steve Pink and starring original cast members Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke, started last week and will continue for seven weeks.

Plot details are scarce, although Corddry recently revealed on "The Howard Stern Show" that the characters who traveled to the 1980s in the original film this time will travel to the future. Corddry also acknowledged on Stern's show that John Cusack would not be returning to the cast, although late last week it was reported by Deadline that Chevy Chase will be.

New cast members reportedly include Adam Scott ("Parks and Recreation"), Gillian Jacobs ("Community") and local actress Gretchen Koerner ("Treme").

Since filming started on Wednesday (June 5), Corddry also has been sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the set with his Twitter followers, sending out images of such things as his trailer and a "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" set chair emblazoned with the name of his character, Lou Dorchen. (Notes Corddry: "Lou has a last name.")

"Hot Tub Time Machine 2" is being produced by Andrew Panay, based on a script by Josh Heald. A release date has not been announced. The film is one of two recent MGM-backed projects to shoot in Louisiana. The other: the horror remake "The Town That Dreaded Sundown," which is just wrapping up in Shreveport.

I really dug the Cusack story line. I think that would be a lot of us, getting hung up like he did. Hopefully, he'll change his mind.

The first movie was not as funny as the trailer(s) led me to believe...I will approach this one with caution pending Talisman's official review of the movie.

It's already filming, I think it's a bit late for that.

You're crazy, the first one was great. Of course, I watched all those 80's Cusack movies back in the day, so it worked for me on a whole different level seeing his reaction to being stuck in the same time frame again. Better Off Dead is still one of my all time favorite movies.

I would not sat HTTM 1 was total crap, just a bit of a let down for me as far as comedy goes. I would rate the movie a B-

Yeah, I'm generally leery of cash-grab sequels, and I think not having Cusack is going to bring it down.
