I saw it. I enjoyed it. My only thought was why was the military constantly shooting at Godzilla yet weren't too concerned about him swimming between their ships?
I thought is was pretty enjoyable. Spoiler alert Btw am I the only one who thought san Fran should of been a glowing crater? Or at the least full of radioactive shit?
C'mon...everybody knows a boat moving at 5-10 knots for 5 minutes is more than ample to get enough safe distance to detonate a several megaton device that make Hiroshima look like a firecracker without hurting SanFran. :P

If I had my $0.02, ancient aliens sent the "parasites" to kill off all the giant Godzilla-sized creatures for their own nefarious reasons, but Godzilla, himself, kicked A back then like he did in the movie and saved Earth. Now, with the "parasites" brought back (in the movie) they called aliens somehow...and in the sequels, the aliens send other monsters to try to eradicate Earth, again.

Or that big bomb at the end woke up even more monsters elsewhere under the sea. If they bring Mothra in (I hope they do), it's as simple as a rich collector having the egg and a couple of broads singing to it.

I'm going with the alien route since Godzilla looked "earthy" and the MUTO's weren't vary Earth-like at all. Smoothe skin, slightly armored, grey, no real eyes (just glowing slits).
But...I'll take a good movie with battlin' Kaiju's howerver.

I got the coffee table book "Godzilla, The Art of Destruction". Have barely checked it out, but it's pretty badass so far. Lots of behind the scenes stuff.

Petyweestraw.... Hmmmm I'd say civis on the bridge but then panicked when he almost tipped them. Plus crossfire.

Petyweestraw..... Well the Muto busted it up so it was slow. Scene was in slowmo or as I interpeted it he was all out of options. Regardless he had to get it as far away as possible even if not far away. Yet doesn't explain how it was so far away when it blew.

Petyweestraw....... Hmmmm not sure on this plot but I'm in no matter.
Lol Me and my kid and nephew jumped out of our seats and screamed "Yes!" when Godzilla roasted and ripped the Muto's head off. Godzilla was my son's life since he could hold his head up and to this day @12 watches the old movies.

I'm with this but not so much sea going but all over.

It was good movie, it was worth the money to see it and I don't go to the movies because of the ass raping they give you. If I go to a theater it better be worth the hype.
I had to see it in 3-D and like Jose mentioned it was didn't take away from it. I saw the Mothra reference and told my wife, she wanted to know who Mothra was, lol.
It was better than Godzilla wrestling movie , I don't even remember which it was, but I guess it was kinda of cool when I was young...

Saw this over the weekend and over all it was good. (Godzilla movie can't expect the best movie ever)
I have read some stuff about people saying there were 2 godzillas. And after thinking about it it makes sense. (kinda)
Spoilers in white.
Toward the end of the movie you see Godzilla collapse and have a building fall on him. He was worn out and just fell over after killing the male Muto ( I think that what they were called)
Then It showed the kid trying to get the boat to go and the female Muto in the water about to attack and godzilla appears (not tired at all) Rips her head off.
And at the very end you see Godzilla back in the city collapsed covered in rubble get up and walk into the water.
I dont remember seeing him walk back into the city after killing the female.. also why would he go back into the city to collapse when he could easily just go into the water where he lives I guess. I probably missed something but its possible there are two.
I didn't pick up on that, but my wife did. I just dismissed it at Hollywood smoke and mirrors, you could be on to something...

Hopefully that made sense.
**Spoiler alert for those who haven't seen it. **
He does go back and collapse again. Probably because he would have drowned if he'd have gone straight to water. Plus, we were supposed to think he was dead so we could get the warm fuzzy when he wakes up. He just got a second wind from the first collapse to the final kill at the end. No way in hell there were two Godzillas. He was so huge, that would have been a clear, addressed plot twist.
The human parts and the story line were a little slow and corny, but not that bad, and pretty much necessary. Godzilla steals the show, as he should, and he was perfect. For anyone complaining about the directing, acting, etc - have you ever seen any Godzilla movies? Seriously? You can't expect Pulp Fiction or Schindler' List. Compare this to any other monster movie instead. I don't really see how they could have made this one better. I do expect a lot more monster action in the sequel(s), now that the basic story has been laid out.
Well its simple. He's been chilling for years. Not doing much. As you saw he was kinda chunky and out of shape lol. Get worked over by two Muto's and have a skyscraper fall on you and see how you feel after.
