      He does go back and collapse again. Probably because he would have drowned if he'd have gone straight to water. Plus, we were supposed to think he was dead so we could get the warm fuzzy when he wakes up. He just got a second wind from the first collapse to the final kill at the end. No way in hell there were two Godzillas. He was so huge, that would have been a clear, addressed plot twist.

        This was one of the worst movies I've seen in a very long time. I'm incredibly surprised so many people liked it.
