Working on reworking the 50 list I haphazardly made last year. Should have it posted up sometime tomorrow. I've also batted around a "mix-tape" (of sorts) thread for the past couple of years but never thought it would really gain much traction.

The list is definitely ever-changing, but here's what I would list today in no particular order as of this week:
                • Alice in Chains - Unplugged in NY
                • Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone
                • The Avett Brothers - Live, Volume 3
                • London Philharmonic - Us & Them: Symphonic Pink Floyd
                • Jason Boland - Live at Billy Bob's
                • Beethoven - 9th Symphony
                • Radiohead - OK Computer
                • "Undone: A Musicfest Tribute to Robert Earl Keen" (@ Steamboat Musicfest - live acoustic Wade Bowen, Randy Rogers, Roger Creager, Chris Knight, Reckless Kelly, Jason Boland, Cody Canada, Cory Morrow, etc, etc)
                • Mastodon - Crack the Skye
                • Other Lives - Tamer Animals

Not sure why I cannot access this website from home, but fuck it. This would be my desert island list (let's not kid ourselves; I would grab more than 5). A true top 50 would contain multiple albums from rush, tom waits, porcupine tree, pink floyd and bowie, and really just got to be entirely too difficult to construct without running out of space way too early. Also, this list would probably look different next year aside from the top 20 or so.

I need to add Karnivool - Sound Awake to my list. One of the best prog rock albums I've heard. The last two tracks alone (Deadman and Change)are worth buying the album.

Their new one is out sometime this year -- next month in DOHCTRville, I believe. They released a track from it last Friday. Sound Awake is really, really good, but I just don't know it as well as I should aside from Deadman and New Day.
