Anyway to get recorded media from the DVR to my computer??

Most dvr's don't support it. I'm not sure if you wanna try to pull the hd out and go from there. I remember when tivo first came out there was a recorder you could by that would record (or burn, I forgot) the signal between the receiver and the tv, like a vcr. They were like $200-$300 way back then.

Yes. There's a device that they sell that goes from the RCA output on the DVR to your USB port on the computer. My boss has one, I borrowed it and it worked fairly well, installed software on the computer and you can choose the resolution size. FWIW, the files end up pretty big if you go high res.
