Anybody seen the trailers for this? I'm on my phone or I'd post them. Sam Raimi is directing and James Franco stars. Looks pretty awesome. I think it comes out in March.

Watched it tonight. The visual effects in this movie are amazing, especially in 3d. The storyline wasn't as strong as I expected. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams looked good. My only problem was James Fanco as Oz. He didn't fit the role whatsoever, his portrayal seemed forced. There were moments where his acting was over the top. I don't want to give away too much but I enjoyed Raimi's version of The Wicked Witch. Also I wished they wouldve done more with Bruce Campbell's cameo. What was Campbell even in Oz? Was it just to get 30 seconds of screen time?
We saw is iMax 3d...wish I hadn't spent $30 for the tickets, until the very end...then it was worth it.

I wanted to like it, but didn't. James Franco seemed to just sleep-walk through his part. Mila, Michelle, and Rachel were fine, and the supporting cast was pretty good. It got better near the end, but I thought the ending was weak. I guess when I spend $40 on a movie, my expectations are too high?Comment

Hell, I really enjoyed it. Just pretended I was a kid and went for the ride. Visually incredible. I usually don't like Franco much, but enjoyed his over the top acting in this. Thought he was perfect. I thought it was a fun movie. Kunis was hot even as a witch. lolComment

Wanted to love it. Visually stunning. The acting was terrible by everyone, especially Mila Kunis, and the story really dragged. There were so many little things I felt they could have changed to make it so much more interesting and tie into the OG movie better. Some things were thrown in that didn't make the movie any better (the china doll, for example). It was a rental I will never watch again.Comment
