The 2nd and 3rd are a mix of the second book. They're entertaining but don't hold up to the first one.

People like the 3rd at all?? It's basically Godzilla played by a t-rex in San Diego.
Jurassic Park was excellent. It's so much better any of the new cgi 3d bullshit, especially Avatard.www.hppmotorsports.com

I am cautiously optimistic.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Colin Trevorrow has received the blessing of the "Jurassic Park" producers to direct the fourth installment of the saga.
Trevorrow, 36, will follow in Steven Spielberg and Joe Johnston's footsteps and direct the next "Jurassic Park." He was discovered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2012 with his first movie "Safety Not Guaranteed." This clever comedy won him the award for Best First Screenplay.
The "Jurassic Park 4" plot is still a mystery. Steven Spielberg, who directed the first two films, will supervise the production of the Universal Pictures movie. The release date is set for June 13, 2014.
Filming on the fourth installment of the saga will start by the end of 2013, twenty years after the release of the first movie.

I hope they don't screw this up. But back in 2004, there was a pitch and a script from William Monahan (The Departed) and John Sayles (The Spiderwick Chronciles) that involved dinosaur-human hybrids that shot weapons and were used to fight crime. Oh what could have been.
It might be hard to believe but the story saw a secret genetics lab get involved with cross-breeding humans with dinosaurs, giving them problem-solving intelligence and the ability to fire weapons and fight crime, but controlled by human authorities. [Reddit*via*FirstShowing]
DINOSAURS THAT SHOOT GUNS AND FIGHT CRIME! And to tas the situation demands.ink, all this time I thought that idea only existed in*old Photoshops of mine. Apparently it made it far enough into pre-production that ILM created concept art and 3D models (see above and below). Jesus, that is the best idea ever. Here’s a bit more, from an old,*ridiculously verbose script review*on AICN:
…a DIRTY DOZEN-style mercenary team of hyper-smart dinosaurs in body armor killing drug dealers and rescuing kidnapped children…So we are introduced to Achilles, Hector, Perseus, Orestes, and Spartacus, each of them a specially created deinonychus, which is sort of like a miniature T-rex. They have super-sensitive smell and hearing, incredible strength and speed and pack-hunting instincts, and they have modified forelegs, lengthened and topped with more dextrous fingers, as well as dog DNA for increased obedience and human DNA so they can solve problems well. All of this is topped off with a drug-regulating implant that can dose them with adrenaline or serotonin.

Just as recently as last week we had fresh ‘Jurassic Park 4‘ updates from director Colin Trevorrow who tweeted from the location scout that the upcoming sequel would return to the original Jurassic Park. But things move fast in Hollywood and just a few days later comes word that ‘Jurassic Park 4′ has been shut down and may not be happening at all any time soon. We don’t know the full story yet but yesterday two staff members on the ‘Jurassic Park 4′ production team tweeted that the film was put on hold. The tweets were quickly deleted but this is the internet where nothing is ever really gone forever and Ain’t It Cool screencapped the tweets in question.
UPDATE: Universal has now issued a format statement saying:
Universal has decided to release Jurassic Park 4 at a later date giving the studio and filmmakers adequate time to bring audiences the best possible version of the fourth installment in Universal’s beloved franchise. We could not be more excited about the vision that Colin Trevorrow has created for this film, and we look forward to watching as he and the producers create another great chapter in this franchise’s storied history.
UPDATE #2:*The Hollywood Reporter says that the reason for the delay was because the first draft of the script was submitted on Monday and that it was “way more epic and ambitious than they were prepared for.”So what does this mean for ‘Jurassic Park 4?’ Well, putting on a project on hold is never a great sign but it’s also not exactly a death knell either. Warner Bros. put a hold on an old ‘Justice League’ movie a few years back and that project was never able to recover and was officially shut down. But the same studio put a hold on ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ and that film recovered and recently wrapped production with Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy starring. At this time, it’s too early to tell if ‘Jurassic Park 4′ can survive or will be permanently placed on the Hollywood backburner.Originally posted by talismanI wonder if there will be a new character that specializes in bjj and passive agressive comebacks?Originally posted by AdamLXIf there was, I wouldn't pick it because it would probably just keep leaving the game and then coming back like nothing happened.Originally posted by BroncojohnnyBecause fuck you, that's whyOriginally posted by 80coupenice dick, Idrivea4bangerOriginally posted by Rick Modena......and idrivea4banger is a real person.Originally posted by JesterMan ive always wanted to smoke a bowl with you. It's finally on!
Jurassic Park 4 Officially Titled Jurassic World, Sets June 2015 Release Date
Universal Pictures has announced that the official title of Jurassic Park 4 is Jurassic World. The film will be released on Friday, June 12, 2015 in 3D.
No story details have been announced at this time, but the plot is rumored to take place at the site of the original Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, which has been turned into an amusement park, as first envisioned by Richard Attenborough's John Hammond. There, Dinosaur trainers run a Sea World type Isla Nublar Lagoon, which will include underwater dinosaurs for the first time in the franchise's history. The film will also include a never-before-seen dinosaur that will rival the T-Rex in terror.
Steven Spielberg will return to produce this long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series. Colin Trevorrow is directing from a draft of the screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley join the team as fellow producers.
The Jurassic World release date comes just on the heels of Disney pulling Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales off its upcoming slate, delaying it until at least the summer of 2016. The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Man of Steel 2 and Star Wars: Episode VII are all still set to be released in the summer of 2015, giving Jurassic World plenty of competition at the box office.
In May, production on Jurassic World was delayed so that Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly could rewrite the original screenplay, with Steven Spielberg giving new notes as well. The trio have turned in a draft of the screenplay that is to everybody's liking.
With the script in place, Universal will now start casting the film. Prior to the delay, Bryce Dallas Howard, David Oyelowo, John Krasinski and Garrett Hedlund were being eyed for the leads. It is expected that offers will still be made to the actors, and we will have an official casting announcements in the very near future.
Jurassic World will be shot in 3D.
